Get to know Loveland and Colorado's culture and history by visiting the museums near our RV resort. Check out our favorite museums down below.
Loveland Museum
The Loveland Museum is one of the most popular museums in Loveland. The museum has revolving art that's designed to inspire and motivate visitors. People love coming here because the art galleries are interesting and impressive. Some of the museum's past exhibits include The Art of Coping, Mosaics by Susan Wechsler and Light Affects: Encaustic Colorado. The art rotates every 8 to 12 weeks, and there is a fee to get into the museum.
Great for kids, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is a hands-on experience that teaches about sounds, archaeology, stars and animals. Help your kids play and explore as they walk through different environments and exhibits. If you missed the gift shop during your in-person visit, the museum has a virtual store. There is a fee to go to this museum.
While the Windsor History Museum is more of a park than a museum, it's still a fun place to go. Your kids can go down slides on the playground while you and your loved one take a walk around Windsor Lake to look at historic buildings. Go inside the Train Depot to feel like you've travelled back in time. This museum is free, so visit it as much as you like.
Centennial Village Museum: Living Heritage Experience
Experience the Old West at the Centennial Village Museum: Walk through 35 historical buildings, meet people in historic costumes and learn about cattle drives and the life of a cowboy. This educational village lets you and your family pet baby animals or ride in a horse-drawn hay ride during the spring. This attraction has an admission fee.
Some of the rules you should be mindful of before going here are:
No food or drink in the historic buildings
No smoking or vaping
No pets (except for service animals)
Keep your phone and other electronic devices on silent
Although the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus is almost an hour away from our RV resort, the visit is worth it if you're looking for an interactive, sensory experience.
The museum has four main areas: Investigate, Imagine, Explore and Create. In each of those, there are exhibits that allow you and your kids to get hands-on experience with kinetics, fire stations, art, kitchens, the outdoors and more. After having fun in the museum, you can visit the cafe for drinks and snacks.
If you're a member, this museum is free; otherwise, you will need to pay a fee to be admitted.
